Students Aid Fund

Introduction:

S. A. Fund is one of the activities which is run by the college, aimed to help economically weaker students in terms of money. the guideline is provided by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

          According to it, during a student’s admission process, fees of Rs. 50 per student is collected under the S.A. Fund heading. the seed money is generated from this amount & later it is distributed among needy students. the funds are dispersed prior to which the applications from needy students were collected in a prescribed format. If there is a large no. of applications were received the students are scrutinized by taking student interviews during which the socio-economical background of students is analyzed and according to students are selected for fund availability. A larger number of students gets be finalized every year from the S. A. Fund scheme.

Aim

  • Financial Assistance: The primary aim is to offer financial aid to students who are unable to afford the costs associated with education, such as tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, and other educational expenses.
  • Access to Education: The fund aims to ensure that financial constraints do not become a barrier to accessing education. It aims to make education accessible to all students regardless of their socio-economic background.
  • Equity and Inclusion: Student Aid Funds often focus on promoting equity and inclusion by providing support to students from marginalized or underprivileged backgrounds, including low-income families, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Reducing Dropout Rates: By providing financial assistance, the fund aims to reduce the likelihood of students dropping out of education due to financial constraints. This supports retention and completion rates, ultimately contributing to a more educated and skilled workforce.
