Department of Sociology

              Lal Bahadur Shastri College is located in the central part of Satara city and in this college Sociology is taught for BA part one and two.  This college is located in a city settlement and students from rural-urban areas are studying in this college.  According to that, students should be aware of the changing times, problems, changes that are taking place.  For this purpose, the university keeps the syllabus.  And at the same time, the Department of Sociology had decided to do some best practices for the overall development of the students.  For that, why and how social problems of the elderly occur.  In old age, a person experiences mental stress.  Along with this comes physical disability.  Such elders need to be understood by the student body.  An old person should be loved like a child.  We teach this to the students every year in the middle of the lecture.

       Also, in today’s modern era, mobile has become the need of everyone’s time.  Hence a seminar was organized on the misuse of mobile phones.  And the opinions of the students – differences of opinion, the thoughts of the students and what can happen to the human society after excesses among the students regarding the appropriate use of mobile phones were expressed.  If the mobile is used for knowledge, it is good, otherwise, if it is used for criminal tendencies, it has bad effects on the society.  This was given to the students. Modern marriage system has created many problems in the society.  Any way the marriage is broken.  of culture

                  The level has decreased.  Many times the quick marriages have also come to a quick break.  Therefore, it is seen that this selfish attitude has been created in the institution of marriage.  Due to methods like love marriage, inter-caste marriage, live in relationship, selfish attitude has been created in the society.  In this, not only the institution of marriage, but also the institution of family, religious institution, economic institution, educational institution, and state institution, there has been a major change and failure in all institutions.  A selfless and good person can’t help but feel mental stress after seeing all this.  In line with all these social problems, we are following the best practice to guide the students through some production class lectures to make them aware of the social problems and how to solve them
