Earn and Learn Scheme
Introduction-
‘Earn and Learn scheme’ is implemented for the students in our college. Library and office work was given to needy and promising students. This scheme is run to help students of the community belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. This Scheme helps to prevent the dropout of the students due to economic problems. This scheme helps such students to overcome these problems by instilling work ethics, self-discipline, confidence building, and personality development among them.
Objectives-
• To identify and help needy students.
• To inculcate work culture and dignity of labor amongst the students.
• To teach the students to earn while they learn and inculcate among them sense of responsibility.
Mechanism-
A. Notification- All the students are notified about Earn and Learn Scheme through website, what’s app group, College notice board.
B. Collection of Application Forms– All the applications from students are collected with supporting document e.g. receipt of admission. Last year mark sheet, etc.
C. Sorting- All the forms are sorted by the Earn and Learn Scheme
D. Interview- Interview is taken by Library committee as it is part of selection process can be completed.
E. Work Distribution- Data entry, register maintain, book sorting, book stamping etc.
F. Honorarium Allocation- At the end of each month the honorarium paid to student according to their work.

Senior Citizen Scheme
Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha Kolhapur is a renowned and leading educational institution in Maharashtra (India). Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe established this institution in 1954. Our motto is Dissemination of Education for Knowledge, Science and Refined Culture. This institution has 375 educational units in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Satara is one of the prominent colleges of Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha. College has started a Senior Citizen Scheme for all the retired seniors to avail them of books in Library.
The purpose of Senior Citizen Scheme is
- To fulfill the need of senior citizens need of books.
- Books are made available to them without any charges.
- This Scheme helps to promote respect towards senior citizens
