Equal Opportunity Centre
Introduction
Equal Opportunity Centre is established in order to utilize the government’s policies, plans, programs, etc. for the benefit of the neglected sections, and groups of society for the betterment of them and the country. Guidance counseling, financial, social, and other related assistance are available within the Equal Opportunity Centre.
Equal opportunities center in the college is established for students from diverse backgrounds with the purpose of academic interaction, growth of healthy interpersonal relationships, and a socially conducive environment. Creating an amicable atmosphere by redressing the complaints received from the marginalized sections and providing information related to welfare programs, social welfare schemes, notifications, instructions, government office orders, and orders issued from time to time by other relevant institutions, and bodies in this regard.
Salient features
- Provides a facility to fill out Scholarship forms at the Centre and tries to resolve the difficulties and related complaints faced by the students while filling out the applications on MahaDBT system.
- To provide information about the Foreign Scholarships and Domestic Scholarship Schemes implemented through the Department of Social Welfare.
- To provide guidance, counseling, and information to the marginalized sections in terms of educational careers.
- To provide Information and guidance on social inclusion to create equality at the community level.
- As per National Education Policy 2020, to create scope for the development of diverse qualities among students and to eliminate/destroy preconceived notions about exploitation among teachers and non-teachers.
- To create academic interaction, growth of healthy interpersonal relationships, and a socially conducive environment for students from diverse backgrounds through an Equal Opportunity Centre in the college.
- To create an amicable atmosphere / solve the problem by redressing the grievances of the marginalized sections and students.
- To supervise the admission process for marginalized sections of society/students as well as registration of students from marginalized sections of society from weaker sections.
- Conducting Outreach Programs for the marginalized sections of society/students through the NSS system or through an independent system on the same lines.
- To coordinate with government offices, institutions, etc. for the availability of educational and financial resources and assistance to backward-class students and disadvantaged groups/constituencies.

Counseling
Equal Opportunity Centre provides counseling regarding educational, family, social, legal, and financial problems along with various types of support and guidance to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Special Backward Classes, Handicapped, Women, and college students from marginalized communities through Equal Opportunity Centre.
Grievance Redressal Centre
Under the Equal Opportunity Centre, the college established a Grievance Redressal Centre under the Equal Opportunity Centre to classify and solve the problems of the students. Apart from this the matter of emotional balance disorder, social adjustment problems, career-related problems, stress, dimension, etc. is redressed through the Grievance Redressal Centre.
