Department at Glance

The Economics department is one of the popular department in Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Commerce and Science which was established by great educationist Shikshan maharshi Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe. Department of Economics established in 1969 only started for UG students and  post graduation in economics started from 2017. The main aim of department is to develop quantitative techniques and research methodology among UG and PG students. We also motivate students to use economic theories in day today life. The department of Economics has memorandum of understanding (MOU’s )  between Shivaji University Economic Association, Kolhapur (SUEAK)  and Chh.Shivaji College, Satara.  The Department employs innovative and technology-enhanced pedagogies, interdisciplinary approaches, fieldwork, and project-based learning toward building a strong foundation of economic ideas as well as to achieve excellence in imparting economic education with social view of promoting large interest of the society.
