DST-FIST

Introduction

           DST-FIST stands for “Department of Science and Technology – Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology Infrastructure.” It is an initiative by the Government of India under the Department of Science and Technology (DST). DST-FIST aims to enhance and strengthen the infrastructure for science and technology research and development in various academic institutions and universities across India.

         The primary objective of DST-FIST is to provide financial support to institutions to acquire modern research equipment, upgrade laboratories, and establish new facilities necessary for cutting-edge research in various scientific disciplines. By improving infrastructure and research facilities, DST-FIST aims to foster innovation, promote interdisciplinary research, and enhance the quality of scientific output in the country.

       Through this initiative, DST encourages collaboration among institutions, facilitates the establishment of state-of-the-art research facilities, and supports the development of skilled manpower in key areas of science and technology. The funding provided under DST-FIST is instrumental in enabling institutions to undertake high-quality research projects, attract talented researchers and students, and contribute significantly to scientific advancement and technological innovation in India.
