For the current year, Shivaji University has organized a district level Avishkar Competition at Balasaheb Desai College, Patan in order to encourage the under graduate students on 15 Dec 2015. From our college 12 students have participated in this competition in 5 different categories. In this competition the students from B.Sc.I namely Miss. Aishwarya Nandkumar Kadam and Miss. Komal Sanjay Wagh have presented their model and poster entitled “Compact high range educational FM transmitter” and won the second prize in the Engineering and Technology category.
Also B.Sc III (chemistry) students namely Mr. Arman Jangu Patel and Mr. Abhijit Shrimat Shelake have presented their poster entitled on “Natural Indicators: An investigation of Acid-base properties” and won the second prize in the Pure Sciences category.
It is mandatory to all winners to present their research work in the next competition. Therefore these two groups have participated in the university level Avishkar competition held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur on 22 Dec 2015. Our students from chemistry department presented their work entitled “Natural Indicators: An investigation of Acid-base properties” in front of experts and won the second prize at University level Avishkar competition and had participated in the Inter-University Avishkar Competition held at Savitribai Phule Pune University on 9 to 12 Jan 2016.

Activities Of Avishkar Committee

One day workshop on Avishkar Research Motivation : A Student Centered Activity

On the behalf of Avishkar committee and Physics Department One day workshop on Avishkar Research Motivation: A Student Centered Activity was organized on 22 Oct 2015. Workshop consists of three sessions which were guided by various experts such as Dr.D.R. Butiyani, Dr.B.D.Sagare, Dr.S.M.Pawar from our college.

Student Research Festival

To develop scientific mind-set among the students of B. Sc and M.Sc. classes, we started a platform like “AVISHKAR” at our college level, named as Student Research Festival. There are total 58 posters have been presented by the students and have participated very happily and enthusiastically. These posters were examined by well-known personalities in the research namely Prof. Dr. L.D. Kadam, Prof. Dr. S.B. Kamble, Prof. Dr. B.V. Jadhav. They have selected best five posters and given prizes to the winners.
